Our One Year in Chicago To-Do List: Get Out of Town

We love doing day trips and weekend trips, so I have a long list of places I want to visit while we’re living in the Midwest. Here’s the abridged version:


Get Out of Town

Door Country, Wisconsin

Galena, Illinois

Traverse City, Michigan

Mackinac Island, Michigan

Indiana Dunes

Lake Geneva, Wisconsin

Starved Rock State Park (Oglesby, Illinois)

Charlevoix, Michigan

Stratford, Ontario

Milwaukee, Wisconsin

    Great list! I totally need to plan a trip to Chicago as I have never been. Looks like such a fun city.

    My husband loved Wisconsin. He said that it was a lot of fun. Plus there will be cheese!

    Oh yea, you must come visit the beautiful state of Wisconsin. Door County is beautiful but the northern part of the state - Minocqua, Eagle River, etc. - is just as beautiful. :)

    I haven't spent a lot of time in that area but I have heard great things about Mackinac Island and I know someone who is from Traverse City! Can't wait to see posts on these trips.

    I know nothing about any of these places, but I spy Gary, Indiana on that map! haha I don't know if it would be a worthwhile visit or not, but the musical fan in me would probably want to go there.

    I love this list! You should check out the House on the Rock in southern WI too. It's one of the most interesting museums ever :)
