Friday Favorites: Five Places I Want to Visit in Canada

Happy Friday, y’all! I have been really enjoying putting together lists of places I want to visit, so today I thought I would continue with places I want to visit in Canada. So far, I have only been to Canada for a day or two at a time on various cruises (we’ve been to Victoria, Vancouver, and visited Halifax and Saint John and Saint Andrews on our fall foliage cruise in 2015), but there is so much more to explore!

Banff National Park
I have always wanted to visit this gorgeous national park in the Canadian Rockies. My dream would be to stay at the Chateau Lake Louise on the stunning Lake Louise.

Quebec City
I’ve heard Quebec City is the closest place in North America to feeling like you’re in Europe, and from the photos, I believe it! I would love to walk the cobblestone streets, check out Le Château Frontenac and La Citadelle, and speak French!

Whistler
Whistler reminds me of Vail, Colorado, and I would love to visit around Christmas someday!

Niagara Falls
I have always heard the Canadian side of Niagara Falls has a better view than the American side, and one of these days, I’d love to see it for myself!

Montreal
Montreal is the largest francophone city outside of Paris, so of course, I would love to visit! It is also often considered the cultural capital of Canada. I would love to check out Old Montreal, the Old Port, Place Jacque-Cartier, Notre-Dame Basilica, Mont Royal, and the Musee des Beaux-Arts).

Check out my list of the five places I want to visit in the United States, six places in the United States I would like to visit again, and five places I want to visit in Europe.

Have you been to any of the places on my list? Where do you want to visit in Canada?

Linking up with AmandaKarli, and the High Five for Friday girls.

Hope y'all have a wonderful weekend!

  2. I spent a long weekend in Montreal last summer, and it was absolutely gorgeous - my fiancé (not used to using that word!) is constantly talking about making a return trip. You really feel like you're in Europe when you're there!

  4. I've heard the same thing about Niagara Falls, that the Canadian side is better than the American side! I'm sad that we didn't get to book our trip there this year, but there's always next year!

  10. These places sound amazing! I've always wanted to visit Quebec. I'm looking forward to my trip to Canada later this year but I'm going to Toronto for a family reunion so not much exploring will be taking place. I went to Niagra Falls on the Canadian side when I was in my early teens but would love to return to experience it as an adult.

  13. I did Montreal & Niagara a few years ago. Montreal is super cool, and the Falls are one of those "gotta see it once" attractions, even though most of the city is super touristy/tacky.

  14. Canada has always been on my list to visit. It just looks so lovely. Although I hope I can enjoy it without getting bothered by the weather. I've got really low tolerance with cold.

  15. I live in Canada and one place you need to add to this list is Toronto!! It's such a beautiful city with so much do to and see. And I agree with you, the Canadian side of the falls has better views. I have seen both!

  18. I spent Christmas of 2014 in Canada and I loved it. We only ventured in as far as the Niagara Falls, but I enjoyed every minute of it! I would recommend using living social when planning your trip, we got so much more than we could have imagined for our money's worth. I hope we get to plan another trip to Canada soon! I'd love to know where you liked best :)
